this is what i wrote in reply after a few days to cool down..
Hi there!
I have been so busy with homecoming that I haven't read any of your emails until now.
9:00 will hopefully work just fine. The talks are typically ending around then... usually. The last one didn't end until a few minutes past ten. Please only change the meeting time if the rest of the ladies are okay with it. No one should be held up on account of Jess and me. Ever since I've been in Tau we've always manage to hold meetings during October with out me actually being there for the month October because I have so much going on. I have always been able to keep up with what has been happening so don't worry about us.
As far as I know attending scholarly events are considered excused absents. It's not like we're off at a bar or something. We go to academic talks. They are imperative to my future career because I don't get hired unless I know some body and attending the talks is how I meet people who could employ me in the future.
I also heard about the possibility of Jess and I balancing between which meetings we attend. I'm sorry but I cannot do that. I love Tau but it doesn't actually do anything for my future. ANSO helps my future. I love both organizations but please don't make me choose. I am a student first. Which is the way it should be.
So, after the talk Jess and I will check and see if the meeting is still going on. If it is we will attend. But please don't hold up anyone on our accounts. Its only 2 people out of 14. You can all manage without us physically there. We are usually good are answering emails (ignore this week because the busyness was almost unholy). All of the tau sisters are welcome to the talks if you would all like to join us so you know we are no making stuff up. This week's topic is Dr. Victoria Bunker of Victoria Bunker Inc. she will be discussing the restoration and recording work that she did on a hidden site. Fascinating.
Ill catch you later! I have a ton of research to do. Have a great weekend!
cheers!
